God Elevates His Servants In Due Time

Text: I Peter 5:6-11    IBCGH    November 29, 2020

Preacher: Pastor Jose B. Cabajar

God knows His people well and He watches over them so they may not become an easy prey of the devil and evil men. In Job 14:16, it is written, For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin? (KJV) Awareness of this passage will surely make us careful in our ways before God. As a great result, we are safe from committing sin.

God does not only watch over us but He also weighs our actions, and if we be found worthy to be lifted up, it will be a great blessing to us as we serve Him in sincerity and in truth. The Bible says in I Samuel 2:3, Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. (KJV)

We must keep in mind that promotion comes from above according to God’s blessed will. Take note of what the psalmist wrote in Psalm 75:5-7, Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck. 6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. 7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. (KJV) Truly, God resists the proud and gives more grace to the humble. James 4:6

(I) Wait Humbly And Patiently For God’s Perfect Time I Peter 5:6

The Bible says in I Peter 5:6, Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: (KJV) This passage reminds us that God has a perfect plan for every believer. Surely, in due time, it will be done for His honor and glory.

-Keep on trusting God I Peter 5:7

Our alarming situation here on earth may get worse to an unexpected degree, but it is always right to keep on trusting God without reservation. It is best to remember that we are not hopeless because the Lord Jesus cares for us so much. In I Peter 5:7, it is written, Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (KJV)

  • Have a self-restrained life I Peter 5:8

Believers must know how to carry themselves calmly even in the midst of commotion and crucial times. The Bible says in Proverbs 16:32, He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. (KJV)

  • Be watchful I Peter 5:8

Spiritual watchfulness is a must-have of all Christians so they may not be caught unaware by the deceitful attacks of the devil. The Bible warns us of the craftiness of our adversary as written in I Peter 5:8, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (KJV)

Spiritual insights to live by:

We may be wondering why we are encountering persecutions, humiliations and seemingly unceasing attacks of the adversary despite of the godly walk we have. In I Peter 5:9, it is written, Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. (KJV)

May we not be dismayed by those strange things that we are facing because in due time, the Lord will lift us up. Moreover, all sufferings we are going through are for our spiritual growth and maturity. A well-seasoned Christian is a powerful soldier of Christ.

The Bible says in I Peter 5:10, But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. (KJV)

We must patiently hope for better things in the days to come for God’s honor and glory. It says in I Peter 5:11, To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (KJV)
