Unmovable In Times Of Uncertainties Text: Acts 20:22-24 IBCSWS December 2, 2020 Preacher: Pastor Jose B. Cabajar Going through our journey of life with seemingly obscure trail will surely prompt us to live by faith and courage so we may not quit from the path of duty. The presence of hardship and challenges of life will surely separate the determined man from the unsettled people. In II Timothy 4:10, it is written, For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia. (KJV) This passage shows us a clear example of a man who was diverted from the ministry because of lack of determination to serve the Lord at all cost. Well-determined people are not easily discouraged by what they hear and see no matter how threatening they may be. The Apostle Paul said in Acts 20:24, But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. (KJV) In secular and spiritual areas of our life, we must not be dismayed by negative things that could easily rob our opportunity to prosper. The Bible says in I Corinthians 15:58, Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (KJV) The Apostle Paul perceived what kind of life he will experience in the future as written in Acts 21:11, and yet he never quitted because he was determined to finish his God-entrusted ministry. The Bible says, And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles. (KJV) Despite the uncertainties of the future, we must let the Lord lead us where He wants us to be and let His Holy Name be glorified. (I) Unmovable From Serving The Lord Acts 20:24 Whatever problems we are encountering today, we must be mindful of the things of God and be supportive to His work. When men begged Paul not to go to Jerusalem because of what Agabus prophesied concerning him, take note of what he said in Acts 21:13, Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. (KJV) In times of perplexities, we must keep on trusting the Lord. Anything could happen tomorrow but we know Who holds tomorrow. -The needed faith and courage in time of uncertainties Acts 21:13 Esther 4:16 Remembering Esther for her faith and courage during her time will surely inspire us not to lose heart in times of uncertainties but to keep on encouraging others to pray so God’s wonderful working will be manifested in our midst. We really need Esther-like believers in our time to stand firm during life-threatening times. In Esther 4:16, it is written, Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish. (KJV) Courage triggered by faith is what we need during crucial hours.
Paul said, Acts 20:24, But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. (KJV) A purpose-driven life is not only barrier-breaker, but unmovable life for the furtherance of the Gospel. Spiritual insights to live by: In times of uncertainties, we must keep on trusting God and encouraging others to be firm in their stand on what is right and pleasing before Him. The Bible says in Psalm 60:12, Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies. (KJV) |
